Join us on April 22ndm 2021 for The 5th annual Earth Day symposium. Use the hyperlinks to join us virtually on our dedicated symposium site. The day will feature speakers with a live Q&A for each speaker, a panel about professional development, and poster presentations from our graduate students. The theme will be the impacts of COVID-19 on environments and people.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has caused massive and rapid changes in societal organization and economic activity. These shifts represent large perturbations to human forcings in the earth system, and thus present an opportunity to learn about both earth system processes and the relationships between human and natural systems across a range of spatial and temporal scales.” – Dr. Zhibo Zhang
Format of Virtual Symposium:
1. PowerPoints: Presentations will be available here before the event so that attendees can view them at their own leisure. During the event, there will be a live Q&A session for each speaker based on questions submitted from the audience in advance.
2. Panel: This year’s panel will focus on professional development with a special emphasis on strategies the panelists have been successful in using during the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be a live Q&A with the panel and questions can be submitted in advance from our audience.
3. Posters: Posters can be on a wide variety of topics, and there will be a morning and afternoon poster session.
